Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known as the character the role of Detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she received an Emmy Award. Kim Delaney is famous as the Detective Diane Russell on ABC's series NYPD Blue. The actress also starred on the drama show All My Children Philly, CSI: Miami, and Army Wives. Delaney was born as the only girl of her homemaker mother and senior executive from her union, the United Auto Workers. Delaney spent most of her childhood with 4 brothers. She envisioned becoming a court reporter in childhood but started modelling while at high school, eventually earning commercials when she moved from New York. Her first job as an actor was as an innocent teenager in the 1981 soap opera All My Children. Delaney was a talented young actress in the 80s, has been featured in several films TV movies and dramas. Personally, her professional life hasn't been successful and happy. Her personal life has been a mess. She's had two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcohol addiction. She lost custody of her son in the year 2005.
