Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell (born in New York City) is a American TV reporter, journalist and anchor for NBC News based at Washington D.C. Mitchell holds a bachelor's degree in English language from the University of Pennsylvania. In the year 1967, Mitchell became a reporter for KYW Radio and TV in Philadelphia. In 1976, Mitchell became a reporter for WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). A few years later, she was general reporter at NBC News in Washington. She began to cover the White House in 1981 and was appointed chief congressional correspondent in 1988. Mitchell was appointed the chief White House reporter in 1992 as well as the chief Foreign Affairs reporter at NBC News. Mitchell has appeared on the TV news show Meet the Press as a host and panelist. She was a member of an audience for the debates of 1988 between George Bush (then president) and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married Alan Greenspan a former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. In 2005, Mitchell was awarded the highly coveted Goldsmith Career Award for Excellence in Journalism from the John F. Kennedy School of Government and, in 2004, in 2004, the Radio-Television News Directors Association (RTNDA) awarded Mitchell by awarding her the Leonard Zeidenberg Award in recognition of her contribution to the protection and protection of First Amendment Freedoms. Mitchell began covering the White House in 1981-1988, and during the presidency of Ronald Reagan. Mitchell covered a wide range of notable stories, including the Iran-Contra scandal as well as budget tax reforms and arms control. Mitchell traveled with President Ronald Reagan on numerous occasions for summits, and to discuss issues like the Iran Contra controversy.
