Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better called Ari Lennox, is an American musician and singer from Washington, D.C., who was the first female to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. In October of 2016 Ari Lennox dropped her Pho EP. The EP was where she gained recognition. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio release was May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox started posting her music to the internet back in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography, in 2013. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet, including her self release single Bound. The song Sweat it part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then and wanted her to work on Rihanna and Rihanna-related songs. On December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. She was featured on the album collaboratively titled Revenge of the Dreamers II in the track Backseat featuring Cozz. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on Oct 21, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's hit song Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she appeared in two songs with EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. On the 16th of July in 2018, Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on the 5th of September. On the 9th of November, she released two additional singles, 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13, she released two additional singles entitled One and Pdigree. One or Pdigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby was then able to make an appearance on the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single as a way to promote her debut titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The 20th of February, 2019 a music video was made available for the track. It already has nearly three million views on YouTube within its initial week. The singer was a supporting artist for 6LACK on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
